Our story
Parasite Real Estate was founded in Manchester in 2009 by two real estate agents. Founded in this former mining and industrial bastion, the company boasts a strong entrepreneurial vision forged by local history. Having experienced severe difficulties with deindustrialization, the town has been engaged since the 2000s in a vast urban renewal program aimed at transforming the town into a creative center after the bottom line of real estate prices. This process, in which the founders took part, convinced them that the city’s industrial past holds the potential for the future. Over the last few years, Parasite Real Estate has been working in other cities with similar trajectories, which have embarked on processes to transform their urban fabric: Sheffield or Birmingham in the UK and Mulhouse or Roubaix in France.
Our vision
Parasite Real Estate is an english company specializing in the purchase and resale of abandoned buildings. We work mainly in former English and French post-industrial cities. Convinced that we can improve the well-being of our cities by starting with what already exists, we seek out unused buildings to give them a second life. Working with the best local renovation companies, we seek out land with high potential and transform it into modern, environmentally-friendly buildings ready to meet the urban challenges of the future.

As at mid-2023, PARASITE REAL ESTATE held a total of 11,161 rental units, mainly located in Greater Manchester. They cover a total area of 49,000 square meters, divided in approximately 1000 rental units. The contracted rent/square meter/month averaged is EUR 7.28 at the end of the reporting period, while the vacancy rate (excluding units under renovation) reached 1.6%. The market value of this portfolio calculated in accordance with IFRS amounted to EUR 118 million at the end of June 2023.
